National Dissemination Meeting
Since its official kickoff in 2002, the Sino-German 'Environmental Strategies of Intensive Agriculture in the North of China (ESIA)' Project has developed a series of environmental friendly technical packages for several vegetables including tomato, cucumber, eggplant, greenpepper and asparagus, etc., in demo facilities across the five pilot counties in Heibei, and explored the agriculture extension mechanism, like farm field school, leading farmers and agricultural cooperatives, which has so far resulted in some remarkable achievements.
In order to further disseminate the project results across the country, the dissemination meeting, initiated by the MOA and co-hosted by both the Chinese and German sides, is scheduled to convene on March 19
th and 20
th in Langfang City, Hebei province. Leading vegetable farmers and technicians from Shandong, Liaoning, Tianjin, Gansu and Ningxia and Hebei are invited to participate in the meeting. They will visit the environment-friendly vegetable production facility, farmer field school and Daqingfa Agro-product Cooperative in Yongqing County, during which the project experts will explain in further details and answer questions.
In addition, the meeting will cover areas related to the project status, environment-friendly technical packages, and experience and good practices of the farmers in pilot counties. Visiting farmers will be given the opportunity to exchange viewpoints face-to-face with their peers in the pilot county as well.
