Study Tour to Korea Farmer Association

For the upcoming stage of the Sino-German ESIA Project, one of its priorities is set to provide support and assistance to the farmers' cooperatives. In order to further promote the development of ESIA-supported cooperatives, the Chinese side and German side have both agreed to organize a study tour to Korea Farmers Association; the project officers and supported cooperatives' members will be given a chance to visit and learn from the experiences of their korean counterparts on issues related to the development of farmers association.

The 6-day study tour, comprising of 9 members, will depart on March 23^rd and return on March 28^th. Members will come from Energy and Environment Protection Center, GTZ, Agro-environmental Protection Station under Department of Agriculture of Hebei province, Agricultural Economics Division under Department of Agriculture of Hebei Province and supported Agricultural Cooperatives. The delegation will study on such topics as the Korean cooperatives, new rural movement, ago-product distribution and wholesale market, vegetable production, and facility agriculture base etc.

Subsequent to the visit, every member is required to deliver a study report which will make a careful summarization of the study tour; the study is expected to be contributing to their future field work.
