Capacity Development

Capacity is the ability of people, organizations, and societies to manage their own sustainable development processes. Capacity development is a holistic process through which people, organizations and societies mobilize, maintain, adapt and expand their ability to manage their own sustainable development.

Generally, there are three stakeholder groups for capacity development in our project. Firstly, farmers are treated as the basic and uttermost important actor who live and work in rural areas. Therefore, the development of agriculture, improvement of environment and upgrading of rural economics hinge on the ability of local farmers. Secondly, agricultural extension workers are another group who go to village frequently, provides technical services and train local farmers. Their extension ability, therefore, is also a key to further foster farmers adopting new technologies, improving production mode and take a new way of thinking. Last but not the least, it's important that the decision-makers at levels varies from the county to the ministry aware the environment problems arising from intensive agriculture, are willing to allocate resource in dealing with these problems, and have ability to tackle with these problems.
