ESIA Project

To grow more and better quality agricultural products with fewer inputs, while having higher income and less adverse impact upon the environment, that is what Chinese farmers are learning through this 7-year project, launched in 2002.

It introduces advanced German greenhouse and open field production methods to China's intensive agriculture. The overwhelmingly positive results and insights on the farmers have affected the formulation of new national environmental laws and standards. The project consolidates Germany's image in China as a world leader in environmental know-how and policy.
